Dealing with Technic~ Problems Relating to the Products, Processes and Investigations of the Philips Industries Recent Developments in Electronic-flash Lamps

Photography with electronic-flasli lamps has become such a commonplace in recent years, among_stamateurs as well as professionals, that these lamps now rival in importance the older combustion-type flash bulbs. This is evident from the fact that the annual world production of electronic-flash units has been roughly half a m_illion over the past five years. Assuming that each outfit is used on the average, say, 40 times a year, we see that a total of 100 000 000 photographs will be made this year with electronic-flosli lamps. A development on this scale has been made possible by the progress achieved in the quality, economy, and reliability of the flash lamps themselves and the apparatus in which they are used.
